CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE – CASHIER (40
Positions)
The Toronto Caribbean Carnival has an immediate need to hire great people with engaging personalities, who are enthusiastic about delivering an extraordinary customer experience that keeps our customers coming back.
Cashier Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers with a warm, welcoming approach while delivering friendly and professional service.
- Manage various payment methods including cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Accurately scan and process customer purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) terminals.
- Issue receipts, or refunds, per organizational policies.
- Balance cash drawers and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist customers by answering basic product inquiries.
- Report pricing discrepancies, system issues, or customer concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all company policies related to cash handling, loss prevention, and area safety.

Digital Marketing Coordinator
The Marketing Assistant will support the planning, development, and delivery of digital, social media, and public-facing communications for the Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s summer programming.
Under the supervision of senior marketing staff, the youth will gain firsthand experience in content creation, digital communications, brand storytelling, community engagement, and campaign coordination.

Event Coordinator
The Event Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of programs and events leading up to and during the Toronto Caribbean Carnival season. Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator will support the operational planning and on-the-ground execution of programs, workshops, and events leading up to and during the Toronto Caribbean Carnival. This role provides firsthand experience in operations, supply management, event logistics, vendor coordination, site preparation, and safety procedures. Youth will work under the guidance of senior operations staff and gain valuable skills in organization, teamwork, and problem-solving.

ROUTE COORDINATOR – 30 positions
Route Coordinator Key Responsibilities
- Guide and monitor assigned mas bands along the parade route to ensure they follow the designated path and schedule.
- Communicate clearly with band leaders, command centre, event coordinators, and security personnel to support smooth parade operations.
- Ensure bands maintain proper spacing to avoid congestion and delays.
- Assist with crowd management and help direct participants and spectators when necessary.
- Monitor the parade route for any issues or safety concerns and report them promptly to event organizers.
- Provide directions and guidance to participants to ensure adherence to parade rules and guidelines.
- Support the coordination of band staging, entry points, and movement along the route.
- Help resolve minor operational issues to keep the parade moving efficiently.
- Represent the event in a professional and respectful manner while interacting with participants and the public.
- Assist with the collection of feedback reporting and post-event evaluations.
Sponsorship Coordinator
Sponsorship Coordinator Key Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying and reaching out to potential sponsors to support an event.
- Maintain strong relationships with current and prospective sponsors.
- Support the preparation of sponsorship proposals, presentations, and agreements.
- Coordinate sponsor benefits, including brand placements, promotional materials, and on-site activations.
- Ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon recognition before, during, and after the event.
- Track sponsorship commitments, deliverables, and timelines.
- Work closely with marketing, event operations, and parade teams to ensure sponsor requirements are fulfilled.
- Assist with sponsor communications, updates, and reporting.
- Support sponsor-related logistics during event days.
- Help prepare post-event reports and sponsor impact summaries.

Volunteer Positions

CUSTOMER SERVICE AMBASSADOR (TTC AMBASSADOR):
Helping customers with their inquiries, concerns or anything else they may need.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests when they enter the venue.
- Have good oral and written communication skills. Being fluent in a second language is a wonderful asset but is not a requirement.
- Providing excellent customer service and accurate information about the event/festival.
- Escort customers to assigned seating areas and settle seating disputes or help solve other concerns.
- Flexible schedule.
- Must be in good physical condition to walk and stand during shift.
- Adhering to event and safety standards
- Attend training, event meeting and walk-throughs as required.
- Must have knowledge of the TCC events have good knowledge of the City of Toronto
- Assist with other duties when instructed.
FIRST AID COORDINATOR – 4 positions
- Post-secondary education in a Fire Safety, Paramedic and/or Occupational Health & Safety program.
- Current Advanced First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred as well in a safety —related role is an asset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
- Ensure workplace safety inspections are completed promptly.
- Assist guests with their safety-related inquiries or concerns
- Perform other operational, supervisory, or clerical functions for the Safety Department as requested by the Health & Safety Manager
- Assist with other duties when instructed.
GOLF CART OPERATORS (SHUTTLE SERVICES) – 30 positions
This position supports all areas of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival, with specific emphasis on outside operations. Outside operations include maintaining golf-cart area in accordance with the philosophy policies and procedures of the Festival Management Committee and Toronto Caribbean Carnival.
Responsibilities:
- Valid Class G Driver’s License — must provide a copy to the FMC.
- Treats all customers and staff with both dignity and respect.
- Maintains friendly appearance; greeting customers by name is possible partnered with a smile.
- Ensures all clothing is clean, pressed and in good condition and overall attire and appearance meets the dress code guidelines.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting employee health & safety.
- Keeps supervisor both promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Notify management if replacement or help is needed.
- Reports to Golf Cart Coordinator.
- Assist with other duties when instructed.

- The majority of duties are performed outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities:
- Making sure that all equipment and supplies are properly packed up and returned.
- Ensuring the stage is properly dissembled and to be picked up.
- Watching over the safety of peers and performers off stage
- Assist with other duties when instructed.
Environmental Requirements:
- Will be exposed to extreme temperature, temperature changes and loud noise.
- Most duties are performed outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to 201bs (this is a physically demanding position)
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts and move intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.
- Will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.

- Assist with other duties when instructed.

To ensure VIP guests feel welcomed, valued, and well cared for, contributing to a successfully managed festival experience.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out assigned duties across all festival events
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guests are comfortable and well attended to
- Work effectively with minimal supervision o Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; proficiency in a second language is an asset
- Support food and beverage areas, including bar and vendor operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and event spaces
- Provide hospitality support to patrons and guests as needed o Show sensitivity and responsiveness to guest needs and concerns o Assist with additional duties as assigned
